4-poster and multi-axis road load replication

Road simulation rigs replay proving-ground data in the lab, so fatigue and comfort tests can be repeated without driving. RIGS & Roads lists 4-poster rigs, flat-track road simulators and full-vehicle multi-axis systems. Tell us your vehicle, payload and data format (MTS RPC, nCode, LMS) and we'll find rigs that fit.

Questions

What is the difference between a 4-poster and a road simulator?

+

A 4-poster rig applies vertical inputs at each wheel via spindle couplers or tyre pads. A flat-track road simulator uses a moving belt under each tyre to replicate longitudinal, lateral, and vertical loads simultaneously. Both are listed on RIGS & Roads.

What data format do I need to supply?

+

Most rigs accept MTS RPC III/IV, LMS Test.Lab, and nCode datasets. Some facilities can process raw proving-ground strain or accelerometer data into a drive file. Confirm this with the lab in your request.

How much notice is needed to book a road simulator?

+

Lead times vary from 2 weeks to 3 months depending on rig availability and programme complexity. Submit your enquiry on RIGS & Roads and the facility will confirm availability.
